Rynex vs Tidio (Lyro AI): Shopping Assistant or Support Suite?

· Updated · 7 min read

Disclosure: We build Rynex. This is a vendor-written comparison — we've kept it honest by using Tidio's own pricing page and public review data (checked August 14, 2026), linking sources, and saying plainly where Tidio is the better choice. Several stores genuinely should pick Tidio; we say which ones below.

Prefer the short version? The side-by-side comparison page puts the verdict, the feature table and the pricing math on one screen.

This is really a comparison of two product philosophies. Tidio is a mature customer-service suite — live chat, a multichannel inbox, Flows automation — that added a genuinely capable AI agent (Lyro) on top. Rynex is an AI shopping agent first: it exists to recommend products, fill carts, and attribute revenue, with an AI-visibility (GEO) layer at its side. A teammate can still take over any conversation from its Support Inbox — what it doesn't carry is Tidio's multichannel support surface.

Decide which philosophy matches your bottleneck and most of the decision is made. The rest is pricing math — which is where these two differ most.

TL;DR — Pick Tidio if your team works messages across many channels daily and wants AI as their first line — it's the most mature suite in the category and its social proof is real. Pick Rynex if the assistant's job is selling: you want add-to-cart, revenue attribution, predictable single-meter pricing, and unlimited teammates who can step into any conversation without a per-seat bill. If you also care about being recommended by ChatGPT and Perplexity, only one of the two ships that.

The Pricing Models, Honestly

Tidio's published pricing (August 2026): Starter $24.17/month with 100 billable conversations; Growth from $49.17; Plus from $300 plus monthly usage. Lyro — the AI — is metered separately: the free and Starter tiers include 50 Lyro conversations as a one-time allowance, and as a standalone add-on Lyro starts at $32.50/month for 50 conversations, about $0.65 each at entry. Flows automation bills on a third meter (visitors). Removing "Powered by Tidio" is another $16.67/month. Tidio does not publish an official overage price; third-party analyses report roughly $0.50–0.65 per additional Lyro conversation.

Rynex has one meter. Free plan: 100 conversations every month, recurring. Starter $39/month covers 1,000 conversations; Growth $119; Scale $279 (pricing). Hitting a limit never cuts the assistant off mid-month, and there's no branding fee.

Concrete scenario — a store doing 1,000 AI conversations a month: on Rynex that's exactly the $39 Starter quota, one line on the invoice — nothing switches off at the limit and no branding fee is added. On Tidio, at its own entry rate of ~$0.65 per Lyro conversation, AI alone extrapolates to several hundred dollars a month before the base plan — and per third-party pricing analyses, Lyro's self-serve tiers stop around the 1,000-conversation mark, past which you're in custom-plan territory. The inversion is the point: Tidio prices AI as a premium add-on to support software; Rynex prices AI as the product.

Where Tidio Is Simply Better

  • Multichannel support operations. A real omnichannel inbox spanning email, Instagram and WhatsApp, with years of shared-team workflow built around it. Rynex has a Support Inbox with unlimited human takeover, unlimited teammates, routing and canned responses — but it's on-site only, and WhatsApp and Instagram are roadmap for us.
  • Maturity and proof. 4.8 across 1,250 Shopify reviews, ~1,900 G2 reviews, 70k+ WordPress installs. Rynex's review base is a fraction of that; if social proof is your risk filter, Tidio wins it.
  • One vendor for support and selling. Tidio is a complete customer-service suite with an AI agent inside it. Rynex is the selling half done deeply, plus AI visibility — if consolidating on a single support platform matters more than either, Tidio is the shorter path.
  • Flows. A visual automation builder for proactive campaigns beyond the AI conversation.

Where Rynex Wins

  • Selling is the whole product. Variant-aware add-to-cart on Shopify, WooCommerce and custom storefronts, and every conversation attributed to orders — the dashboard answers "how much revenue did the assistant influence?", not "how many chats did we have?".
  • Pricing you can predict. One meter, a recurring (not one-time) free tier, no cutoffs, no branding fee. Among the things Tidio's own customers flag in recent one-star reviews is the opposite experience: pricing-structure confusion between its Shopify listing and website (May 2026), and auto-upgrades that don't auto-downgrade (April 2026) — source.
  • Teammates aren't a meter. Every plan includes unlimited teammates in the Support Inbox and unlimited human takeover, at no extra cost. Support suites almost universally price seats — a growing team moves their bill and not ours.
  • Languages beyond the mainstays. Tidio markets 45+ languages, but its help center's list of officially supported Lyro reply languages is far shorter — around a dozen at our last check (we couldn't verify the current list directly). Rynex follows the shopper's language automatically. For stores selling in, say, Turkish, this is worth testing on day one.
  • AI visibility. The GEO layer tracks whether ChatGPT-, Gemini- and Perplexity-style models recommend your store, benchmarks competitors, and fixes the technical layer (llms.txt, structured data, content signals). Tidio has nothing in this category.

What to Verify in Your Own Trial

Whichever way you lean, spend the trial on the same three tests: ask twenty real presale questions from your actual catalog and count correct, complete answers; check what happens at the plan limit (Tidio: which of the three meters runs out first and what it costs; Rynex: nothing cuts off); and if you sell in a non-flagship language, run the whole test in it. Tidio reviewers who churned cite AI quality drifting over weeks and wrong stock answers (March 2026 review) — a two-week trial with your own catalog surfaces that class of problem fast, for either product.

FAQ

Is Tidio cheaper than Rynex?

Entry prices are close (Tidio $24.17/mo, Rynex $39/mo). With real AI volume they diverge fast: Lyro meters conversations from ~$0.65 each at entry, while Rynex's $39 covers 1,000 conversations on one meter — at Tidio's own rate, that volume alone would run several hundred dollars before its base plan. AI-heavy: Rynex. Live-chat-heavy with light AI: Tidio.

Does Tidio work with WooCommerce?

Yes, genuinely — cart visibility, product cards, add-to-cart. Its deepest native actions ship Shopify-first, with Woo a step behind.

Can I run both?

Some stores keep Tidio for human live chat and Rynex for selling, but two bubbles fight for the same corner — most merchants give the widget one owner.

Where do I start?

Rynex's free plan is 100 conversations every month — enough for a real trial on live traffic. Or start further upstream: run the free AI-visibility audit and see what AI assistants currently say about your store.
